The Health of your Colon

Many of us don't know the importance of colon health. We often take our colons for granted and we just assume that it will do the job it was designed to do. Much like a car needs maintenance and care so does our colon.

Health Problems from a sick colon

Due to the lack of care that we usually give our colon, many of us are suffering from colon related health problems. Some of these ailments include constipation, lack of energy and pain. The good news is that there is something you can do about it.

Cleanse your colon with a colonic.

What is a colonic?

Simply put a colonic is the use of water to flush the colon. Most often a trained colon therapist will infuse water into the rectum. The therapist will insert a disposable speculum or tube into the rectum, this tube is connected to a long tube that is then connected to a machine called a colon hydrotherapy unit. Filtered water is then infused into the colon slowly which then causes a series of muscle contractions in your digestive tract. This causes all the feces and toxins to move out through the hose so that it can be disposed into a closed waste container.

Why would I get one?

Fair enough question, but as I said earlier, most of us are walking around with unhealthy colons that are leading to multiple health problems and we don’t even know it. The colonic will remove the toxic build up from your body. This will help you prevent constipation and remove toxins.

Is a colonic the same as an enema?

They both help to clean the colon and they both use water. They are different in the areas that they clean. An enema will only clean the lower portion of the colon while the colonic will clean the entire colon.

A colonic needs to be given by a trained therapist and an enema can be done in the privacy of your own home by you. The added benefit of the colonic is that you will not smell the fecal matter; it is disposed of using a tube connected to a closed waste container. That's not the case with an enema.

Looking at all this information leaves us with one more question.

Why isn’t everyone having a colonic done?

The answers to that one vary, for some they are embarrassed and yet others are worried about the discomfort or worry that there is pain involved with the procedure. The truth is that you may experience some discomfort during the procedure but it is temporary. A clean colon means improved overall health and you will even notice a difference in your weight.
